I'm still looking to see where "Image of Desire" may first have appeared,
if indeed it appeared somewhere before Ford's book. I started with the NY
Times, and though I didn't find "Image" I did find that between 1950 and
1961, Ford placed 21 poems in the Times with the greatest concentration in
1958 and 1959. He also published quite a bit in Good Housekeeping, Ladies'
Home Journal and McCall's during this late 50s period.
