Dear Priscilla,
God! I'm least likely candidate for king of anything. It's the Russians who
seem to think they need validation. I do think your later suggestion is a good
idea, but I am the last person on earth to want to squabble with anybody about
anything. The Society should really get its house in order though so that SP
does not have de facto power to excommunicate projects that, in his view, are
threats to TN, e.g. NABOKOV STUDIES, ZEMBLA, etc. It's preposterous. Further, I
am seem to be in Dmitri's doghouse for running info about Jo Morgan's Lolita
idiocy. Cheers, Don

Dear Don,
I suppose it doesn't matter, but doesn't it make you feel like The Man
Who Would be King? (not the vainglory part). It's rather ridiculous,
these imaginary chapters. Maybe we should institutionalize the Ivns and
make the VNS a chapter of it, thereby subsuming Steve and allowing us
to change the structure? Ha!
