Thomson's observations on "Lolita" are so trite and vulgar that I'm certain
Charloye Haze herself could have brought more intellectual integrity to bear on
the task of evaluating the book at 50. Really, anyone who would equate Lolita
and Humbert with Paris Hilton and Albert Einstein is hopelessly mired in a pit
of self-satisfied poshlust, and can hardly be expected to conjure a single
worthwhile thought on VN's art.
