EDNOTE. NABOKV-L thanks Aaron Bradford for this item. J.W. Dunne's book has
been part of my "books related to Ada" collection for a long time but I had
completely forgotten the red/green business. I hereby draft Mr. Bradford as
our official J.W. Dunne & VN expert.

In JW Dunne's *An Experiment with Time*, Dunne writes about this very
phenomenon (the red and green after images). Nabokov read this book,
according to Boyd (VNAY), while composing *Ada*.
*An Experiment with Time* is a fascinating read and details Dunne's
experiments with foreseeing future details of not only one's own life but
with world events during dreams. There could be a connection between the
themes of the future, seeing the future, and these aafter images through a
sidepath through Dunne.
