------------------ Hello, Don

I don´t know if this is of interest to the list but in Brazil we find the
word "comoda" applied exclusively to meanings (1) and (3) listed in the OED
( cf. A.Stadlen) : (1) [I paraphrase and shorten] a late 17th or early
18th century fashionable tall head-dress for women; (3) a piece of
furniture with drawers and shelves for bedroom or drawing-room.
I would also add that the word "comoda" means "comfortable", as I think it
also means in French !
