Rereading "The Fall of the House of Usher,"
I am convinced that the tale vibrates in the chapter. I am grateful to Peter
Hayes and John Rea for pointing out. The tale shares with TT the
theme of messages from the buried people who have still consciousness,
doesn't it? Are there any other Poe threads through TT?

I agree with John Rea that THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS is among the works
alluded to in TT. The White Queen's "living backwards" and the Red Queen's
running to catch up with here and now also seem to link LOOKING GLASS to TT.
Of course, "the dream of a Lutwidgean" (Ch.
12) is a hint VN prepared.
