Subject: TT-10 Introductory Notes

Dear Don,

I send the introductory notes to TT-10. Will you run it when you move on to
Ch. 10?

As for discussing the meaning, I thought we were going to do in the end.
When I read your note, "I propose a close reading, i.e., explication of the
text. At the end -- perhaps a discussion of more general issues" I thought
you meant that. I personally heard from a few list members that our
discussion included so many references to the later chapters and the other
VN works (I am most responsible) that they could not follow us. If we
discuss the meaning of something important, our discussion will range the
whole novel. I think we had better know the whole text in detail beforehand.
But I am not certain. Free discussion anytime could be better.

Best wishes,
Akiko
