------------------ I'm at risk here, since I don't seem to have The Defense
in my office. But I think I have seen this word (or "Pixlox") in
private-eye contexts as a very small set of tools for picking locks, as the
name implies.

EDNOTE. I have always assumed it was a kid's puzzle of some sort.

locks? Might be a British trade name circa 1910? Does any one have
