Subject: Krivulin - translator of ADA?
Dear Nabokovians,
According to an anonymous author of the biographical article on Viktor Krivulin
(htp://www.aktivist.ru/promzona/Krivulin/;
http://litpromzona.narod.ru/krivulin/), the latter has translated Nabokov's ADA
into Russian . Does anyone know (I mainly address Russian contributors to the
List), if it is true? I mean, does Krivulin's translation really exist and, if
it does, where it was published? I must say that I first heard the rumours that
Krivulin was translating ADA in the early nineties, a couple of years before I
myself plunged into the novel. But I never saw the finished product published
anywhere. A few years ago I heard of its existence from E. Belodubrovski, who
affirmed that this mysterious translation was published in one of the literary
magazines (where exactly?). But Alexander Dolinin refuted this statement when I
asked him last August if it was true. All this was nonsense, he said.
Now, who is right? I shall be grateful to anybody who can answer my queries:
1. Is Krivulin's translation a myth?
2. If it is not, where can I read it?
