EDNOTE. Anent item #1(which has been out of print for many years.): Since I
have only one copy myself, I order the two in stock. For the desperate, used
copies pop up now and then at circa $70-100 a pop. For those who have a
life expectancy in excess of 10-20 years an expanded Russian edition is in
the works. Nel Cornwell's volume is an excellent survey--as Mary points out.
