EDNOTE. Polish writer Stansislav Lem was one of the leading figures in international Science-Fiction. In 1962 he published the essay "LOLITA, or Stavrogin and Beatrice" in a Polish literary journal. A Russian translation of the essay that appeared soon after and is offered below. I know there is also an English version but not whether it is available on-line.
