VN is mentioned in the new book The Chess Artist, by J. C. Hallman, at least twice: pages 15 and 263.
Page 15: a friend of the author is giving his opinion on blind quotes handed to him. "'Nabokov (The Defense) was nice, "but it could have been worded better." No mention of the particular quote handed to him, perhaps the same used for the Chapter epigraph on pg. 263.
The book is a type of chess history and travelogue into Russian chess circles by the author and his chess "fanatic" friend.
