EDITOR's NOTE. Overlook Press has just released the American edition of Jane Grayson's excellent, brief photobiography of Vladimir Nabokov as a part of its Illustrated Lives series. This is an extremely handsome small volume --
beautifully written and with many photographs that are often ingeniously juxtaposed. Grayson's text is concisely elegant and elegantly precise. The volume is an ideal companion to Nabokov's own _Speak, Memory_ and its carefully chosen photographs add a much appreciated dimension to the existing full-scale biographies.
