I think Larissa Volokhonsky might be wrong about something else too:

Dostoyevsky's humor," Larissa added, "is lost in Garnett, and he's

by Dostoyevsky, but he was influenced by Mrs. Garnett."

Doesn't she mean "Hemingway thought he was influenced by _Turgenev_" etc?
