further to a query which I submitted some weeks ago. Does anyone know of
any definitive, or at least strong, evidence that nabokov was familiar with
the work of chaucer, in particular The canterbury Tales? I know he read
mediaeval french lit and must have been familiar with courtly poetry. thank
