I recently glanced through the index of Deidre Bair's biography of Anais
Nin. The only reference was to Nin's outraged complaint that LOLITA
which deals with 12-year-old girl and a man in his fifties was a
runaway bestseller while her sales languished. Judging by her estimate
of Humbert's age, she either didn't read (or didn't read carefully)
LOLITA since Hum is "relatively" youthful thirty-some.
