Query: Nabokov and Isaac Babel

What did Nabokov think of Isaac Babel? A quick check shows no references
in Boyd, "Butterflies," or "Blues"; combined with the fact that Babel
was part of Gorky's circle, and that he officially "disappeared" from
1940 to 1954, I suspect he didn't much occupy VN's thoughts. But anyone
information would of course be appreciated.

EDITOR's NOTE. Off hand, I don't recall any VN's remarks on Babel but my
hunch is that he would have admired his writing.
