Dear Messieurs Ns,

I wonder why is doubting Thomas so angry? Desparate to be the first to
win the prize, moi? I am wounded, but not to the heart.

You may turn out to be right in the end, of course you may. Then the
prize will go to you, the crown and its jewels. You are playing the
game, too, so why take a superior tone?

Someone has figured out how to read Pale Fire, or will figure it out.
Why not?

And to DN,

Of course I am aware of your father's admiration for Jekyll and Hyde.

Do you feel from what you know of your father, that he might have
intended a "re-make" so to speak? It did occur to me, that knowing that
the modern reader could never enjoy that story as its original readers
did (who doesn't know the answer to the riddle 'who is Mr Hyde'?) that
he set out to do his own version?
