between Vera Nabokov and her husband, Vladimir, the celebrated author of
``Lolita''
and ``Pale Fire.'' The book was published last April by Random House.
Schiff, who has written for The New Yorker, The Times
Literary Supplement and The New York Times Book Review, lives in New York
City and
Canada.
