EDITOR's NOTE. Someone recently posted a note on NABOKV-L that the new Bio of Wilder described an incident in which VN was at a party at Wilder's where he examined W's art collection and responded in reply to a query that if allowed to take one home, he would take a Balthus. This is recollection. Best check it.
