Well, I'm not the world's biggest Bellow fan, but I think Raphael is
completely koo-koo for Cocoa Puffs in his claim that Herzog is a remake of
Pnin. As for his assertion re Bellow and Nabokov: "(which writers express
mutual antipathy, they are always likely to have similarities)," well,
that's
the sort of canard that mediocrities with way too much self-regard are quite
apt to hurl at their betters. There is, I believe, some documentation
proving
Raphael's incomprehensible incomprehension of Nabokov-didn't he concoct some
rather stunning nonsense apropos Lolita recently?
