I think it was the Clarence Brown review that I read about the
translation of Lolita. But, this review, I think, was collected
somewhere,
because, to the best of my knowledge, I haven't had access to journals
unless they were on the web. Does anyone know where?
Marina Naumann's 'Blue Evenings in Berlin' is a good discussion of VN's
early stories, and Jane Grayson has written a book (which I haven't
read very much of) called 'Nabokov Translated'.

EDITOR's NOTE. I cannot second the Nauman recommendation but Jane
Grayson's book _NABOKOV TRANSLATED_ is the best-extended treatment of
the translated Nabokov. A doctoral dissertation by, I beleive, Judson
Ronsengrant, is a detailed investigation of VN's versions of SPEAK,
MEMORY.
