Christie's will auction a first edition of Nabokov's "Lolita" on April
24,
200l. It is part of the sale of the huge Helmut N. Friedlander
Library.
There is a full page, actual size photograph of the lst edition "Lolita"
and
is estimated at $2,000-$3,000. The book is Lot 443.

The text reads: " Lolita, First Edition. The Olympia Press. l955.

2 volumes, original green printed wrappers. . .original silver and white

paper slipcase; quarter morocco slipcase.

First Edition, second issue with "Francs 900" on the rear cover of vol.
2 and
"New Price Francs l.200" sticker on vol. 1. . .Rare Publisher's slip
case."

The photograph on page l67 shows the book in actual size and it was
quite
compact, just 7" x 3 l/2." The the full-page color photograph in green
and
silver is very dramatic.
