You're probably thinking of KING, QUEEN, KNAVE (1972), one of the least seen
and most interesting of Nabokov adaptations. David Niven, Gina Lolobrigida,
and John
Moulder-Brown are the title characters. Polish-born director Jerzy
Skowlimowski was responsible also for DEEP END (1970) and MOONLIGHTING (1982).
