This carefully documented volume is a treasure house of information. I
call it to the attention of Nabokovians because it includes a thorough
forty-page survey of Nabokov in England. Although I noticed little, if
any, new information and a few minor errors, the chapter has the great
virtue of gathering together and documenting virtually all of
the information about VN in England and England in VN's work
and correspondence -- some of the latter unpublished letters in the NYPL
Berg collection.

As someone who recently gathered together much of this widely scattered
information in connection with a couple of papers on VN's English
connections, I can only say that I wish I had known of the volume earlier.
