Subject: American Beauty

Dear Don,

............there are echoes of Lolita in American Beauty
(which is a great film, by the way, made me wish he and not Lyne had done
Lolita). The basic situation of a 40+ man dreaming of having sex with a
teenager (covered with rose petals in his dreams) is familiar enough but
then one discovers that her last name is Hayes. Maybe a coincidence -- but
maybe not.

And then there is of course the whole business of "Russian Beauty" --
"American Beauty" but that may be going too far..

Galya
