EDITOR's NOTE. Two of the most interesting books on Nabokov to appear in
1999 were Kurt Johnson's and Steve Coates' book on VN's achievements as a
lepidopterist cum S. American adventure story and Sara Funke's (of Glenn
Horowitz Booksellers) beautifully illustrated _Vera's Butterflies_ with,
inter alia, Nabokov hand-drawn dedication butterflies to his wife. I envy
those of you in the New York area the chance to hear these people.
