Query: LOLITA, identity & compassion
EDITOR's NOTE. The only thing that comes to mind is Richard Rorty's essay
on LOLITA and Leona Toker's response to it. But all this is out of my
bailiwick.Perhaps someone out there is better informed.

I am writing a Ph.d in philosophy. I am currently
writing on the concept of "identification" and its relation to
mitigation, understanding in general, equity and mercy. I wonder if
anyone on your list is aware of anything written on "Lolita" that
explores these issues, or some of them.
