I do not remember what brought me to Ducornet's writing. I would have
thought it must have been a mention in this List, but apparently not. Perhaps
it was something from a book-jacket blurb I read in a bookstore.
I suspect that Nabokovians would like her not only for her prose
style, but for the special attention that she gives to specific material
objects--the descriptions themselves and the importance that the objects
assume in linking events in characters' lives. Her treatment of
psychiatry, however, is somewhat different from Nabokov's.
