Mr. Hensher's dubious taste in translations notwithstanding, he himself is a
brilliant writer, if his libretto to the Thomas Adès opera "Powder Her Face"
(the only work of his I have had the pleasure to know, nothing else being
apparently available in the U.S.) is any indication.
