***Hope it's not a problem to most of you that I am sending this out as an
attachment. Yesterday we highlighted the German-speaking members of our
list -- today it's the turn for the French speakers who are also quite
numerous. The chapter that Paul Braffort is generously sharing with
Nabokv-L is in French. GD***

Dear Galya,
Please find attached an extract of my book "Science et Littérature : les
deux cultures, dialogues et controverses pour l'an 2000" (Diderot, éditeur,
1998) which is my tribute to the celebrations. It is the third chapter of
Part IV entitled "Mon équilatère : Queneau, Nabokov, Calvino". I guess the
title of this chapter "L'enchanteur aux brazzles" will be a transparent
thing to many readers!
