There is a smallish reference to Nabokov in an article on Don DeLillo's
new novel in the Lady Di issue of the New Yorker (don't have it on me,
so I'm not sure about the date). The article compares a bit of this new
work to Humbert Humbert's listing of Lo's schoolmates---the author's
fondness of sound for the sake of sound and so on.
Is it just me or have there really been more mentions of Lolita and
Nabokov this year? It seems as though Hum's shade still hangs light in
the air, half smiling, everywhere.
Regards,
Juan Martinez
