The analogy -- which I also find preposterous, regardless of whether there
is any truth to these allegations or not -- may have been further
influenced by the movie, "Wag the Dog," which I just saw on Saturday.
There the President was allegedly involved with a younger girl (there is a
picture shown of him standing with his back to us and looking very
much like Clinton shaking hands with a girl in a black beret, allegedly
his victim. The beret and the way the girl looks is virtually identical to
the pictures now widely circulating of Monica Lewinsky at the time she was
hugged by the President following his reelection in 1996. It's quite
uncanny!) In the movie, a political opponent of the President uses Gigi's
"Thanks heaven for little girls" song as a "new tune" for the White
House. I am afraid people may now be virtually confusing the "reality" and
the movie.
