EDITOR'S COMMENT: NABOKV-L occasionally gets queries from students
seeking information and advice about what grad schools are good for
Nabokov work. This and the following message are responses to a query
posted by Maria Salazkina asking about VN and Slavic programs.

You are welcome to apply to the University of Washington, where I teach
and am directing several people's disserations on Nabokov. We had a bit
of a scare two years ago when the program for no good reason was
threatened with elimination (as was Ohio State) but we are fairly safe
now, and our graduate program appears intact. If you are interested, let
me know, and I will make sure the office sends you all the necessary
information. I am a Graduate Advisor as well, so if you have any
questions about our graduate school, I am a logical person to address them
to. Whatever you decide and whichever school you choose, the best of luck
to you!
