Subject: A question about Mary

Excuse me for asking a question.

When I read an article "Veshchii son" (in "Literaturnaya uchyoba", 1987,6),
I found a passage, where Mr Palamarchuk said as follows.

Among Westen studies on Nabokov he remembers a comparison between "Mary" and
"Lolita". In this study the author insisted that the second house at the end of
"Mary" reminded him of a book (here we can find such words, as "pereplyot",
"kniga", "roman"), and that this second house suggested future books. (pp. 63-64)

Whose work does Mr Palamachuk have in mind?

Yuichi Isahaya
