EDITOR'S NOTE. Although further help wouyld be appreciated, a good place
to start is with the Zimmer Bibliography (Lolita) section on ZEMBLA, the
VN Web Site at http: //www.libraries.psu.edu/iasweb/nabokov/nsintro.htm
It also has a Lolita Pop. Culture section. Suellen Stringer-Hye
VNCollations in the NABOKV-L Archives also contain much Lolita Lore.

I'd be very appreciative if anyone could forward to me exact cites for or
suggestions of where to find a) discussions of the nature and purpose of
the John Ray preface and the VN afterword to *Lolita*, and b) discussions
of consumer culture and the middlebrow in same. I'm also interested in
VN's ideas about reading, and would love any suggestions for where to find
insights into it besides in "Lectures on Lit" and "Russian Writers."
Cites in the popular press would be especially appreciated. Please reply
off-list to address above. Thanks very much--
