I read Lolita when I was 13 or 14--didn't appreciate it. Read Pnin
when I was 15 or 16, greatly enjoyed it, was surprised that
reading a book could be so pleasant. One of the first
books to change the unfriendly view of literature I had
gotten from my English classes.
