EDITOR'S NOTE. In partial answer to Michael Solomon's question, I mention
that independent scholar Maria Temkina will give a paper entitled
"Adolescent Fantasy---LOLITA and Duchamp's _Etant donne_ at the AATSEEL
VN panel in Washington, 30 Dec 1996, 1-3pm. NABOKV-L will shortly be
runing abstracts of most of the papers.
Does anyone know of other VN-Duchamp ties?

Has anything ever been written on Nabokov and
Marcel Duchamp? It seems to me that the two men
have so much in common -- a life in exile,
unrepentant punning, and of course a passion for
chess. I would be grateful for any leads.
