NABOKOVIANS:
Two items of interest came in the morning mail:
1) David Rampton, VLADIMIR NABOKOV, a volume in the "Modern Novelists"
series put out by St. Martin's Press, NY, 1993.
2) "The Times Literary Supplement" (London: Aug. 6, 1993; #4714, p. 23)
has a (rather supercilious) review of Julian W. Connolly, _Nabokov's Early
Fiction: Patterns of Self and Other_. Cambridge U.P., 1992; and John Burt
Foster, _Nabokov's Art of Memory and European Modernism_. Princeton U.P.,
1993.

As a personal aside, I might mention that I have just finished
Donald Harington's _Ekaterina_ (Harcourt Brace, 1993), which Clarence
Brown reviewed for NABOKV-L. I found it a delight. If enough subscribers
can lay hands on a copy, it would make excellent material for discussion
of the net.
