It is interesting that the author of the article would mistake the
remnants of Nabokov's Russian punctuation in English for his rich English
punctuation which he somehow lost over the years! What Nabokov was doing,
most likely, was switching to what he perceived the English punctuation
was. Like English articles, punctuation is usually one of the last things
that a fluent yet non-native English speaker masters.
