Jeff Edmunds and Ted Ficken's prompt and explicit reply are a fine example
of the benefits that NABOKV-L offers to subscribers. I would like to see

The illusion of looking at one color and then seeing an afterimage of the
opposite color (ie red to green) is called Color Opponency. (Sekuler, R.
*Perception* Knopf, 1985, p. 203)

Ewald Hering, a German physician of the 19th century, is responsible
for much of the theory in this area.
