If you have not done so yet, check out todays New York Times Book Review,
p. 15; there is a new book out called SIT! which is a collection of 70
"aristochiens," i. e. dogs depicted as aristocrats. The one the Review
chooses to feature is V.V. Pnin (Viktor Vladimir Pnin) "so often exiled
to Siberia that his personal food bowl and straw mattress were kept in
permanent reserve...etc."
