Just in case anyone missed it first time round (as I did)
this study has just surfaced again here in Manchester.
Elizabeth Dipple, THE UNRESOLVABLE PLOT, Routledge, 1988.
She deals with modernist narrative from Borges, Calvino,
and a number of others. But there is a substantial chapter
'Nabokov's ardors and pale fires' with deals with LOLITA
and PALE FIRE.
