I have been holding a bit of information on the new film Lolita from all
of you Nabokovians thinking it is old news. However, noone seems to have
mentioned the Newsweek blurb (of roughly two weeks ago) disclosing the actor
tentatively cast for the role of Humbert Humbert. The casting director
supposedly has his eye on Hugh Grant of "Four Weddings and a Funeral" and
"Sirens." I don't know, but it seems as though a more "mature" actor would
be the appropriate choice to reprise James Mason's role. The Lolita character
may end up looking older than Grant, which might be an interesting twist!
