EDITOR'S NOTE: I read one of Willeford's novels a couple of years ago
with enjoyment. The pairing with VN though seems very odd. They are VERY
different sorts of writers. What, I wonder, is the basis for the
parallel. Was it the unreliable narrator shtick? DBJ

There was also a quote from Jonathan Lethem. I'm not certain, but given
the ref. to Willeford, he could very well be the author of the
hardboiled-speculative novel _Gun With Occasional Music_, which I just
happen to have read last week.
