I think Dolly's real last name more than rhymes with Haze, but is in
fact Hayes.

I had a similar reaction to Jansy's post. To me, the similarities
between Haze and Hase were too glaring to pass up, once I had notice
the rabbit theme in Ada. From Jansy's earlier post, one wonders: what
was Darkbloom's "obscure but not unattractive reason"? For me, this
relates mainly to VN's interlingual punnery. What else could it link
to? Could the rabbits in Ada be intended to refer to the earlier novel
through this device (as the SO statement hints)? Could the earlier
name, and also the later, be meant as a response to Bunny Wilson's
refusal to read VN's short story (?) in which he had a passing
appearance, after being notified of his presence there by the author?
(I'd name and quote, but am away from my books right now). Of course,
Dolly's real last name only rhymes with Haze . . .
